Review: My Forever Plus-One by Shannyn Schroeder

My Forever Plus-One

Evelyn is a woman who has everything--a successful career as a TV producer, and her best friend—sexy firefighter Owen Hanson—who looks mighty fine as her plus-one to awards dinners and backyard picnics. But something is missing and it’s not just the sex.

Owen Hanson is living the dream—a Chicago firefighter who volunteers at a youth center on the Southside and he’s got his best friend Evelyn—who knows him better than anyone. When Evelyn starts hinting about wanting something more, Owen panics.

Sex changes everything but taking their relationship to the next level surpasses even their wildest dreams. Until Evelyn’s ex-husband shows up and could make even the most perfect couple crash and burn...

Each book in the Daring Divorcees series is STANDALONE:
* One Night with a Millionaire
* My Best Friend’s Ex
* My Forever Plus-One

This is a classic best-friends-to-lovers story. Two people who have known each other for years and are comfortable in each other's company slowly fall in love. Evelyn and Owen met a few years ago and they've been close friends since then. They're always there for each other. And they're used to being each other's dates when needed. However, they aren't actually dating. The chemistry is there and love is there but they both feel that friendship is the only option for them.

Soon, they are going to realize that their friendship may not be the same if they didn't act upon their mutual attraction. But is it wise to even consider that? There are so many things that can go wrong. Still, they won't know unless they try.

It's a well-written story. I loved the characters and it has all the right feels for a contemporary romance. Also, I love it when best friends fall in love. It's the best. If you also enjoy that kind of stories then this is definitely for you.

P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley.

Tour Stop + Review: AWK-WEIRD by Avery Flynn

There’s more to me than just being awk-weird. I own my own flower shop, have some great friends, and I have my eye on adopting the most adorable kitten. But sadly, hot guys don’t tend to be blown away by my trivia-spouting, dorky self.

So, when a Thor-lookalike who happens to be a professional hockey player hits on me at my bestie's wedding rehearsal party ... You better believe I climbed that tree like a cat. And the fact that it happened not once, not twice, but three times? Yeah, that's pretty much a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a woman like me.

There's zero chance I'll end up ever seeing him again...right?

Until the pregnancy test comes up positive. What happens next?

Oh my God, I wish I knew...

It's quite an interesting and fun read. I enjoyed this awkward and weird story a lot. Both the main characters are amazing and it's very well-written. As far as romcoms go this is the best one and a must-read for all romance lovers.

Tess is a little nerdy and a lot adorable. She thinks she has her life all figured out but soon she will realize how wrong that is. Because life has a way of surprising us. But she is always up for a challenge and it might be the best thing that has ever happened to her.

This book is the best feel-good kind of book that I've read in a while. It's hot and it's sweet. I enjoyed every moment of it and I think that anyone who loves to read will like it. In short, I highly recommend this.

Review: Mated To The Dragon King: Purely Paranormal Pleasures by C.D. Gorri

Mated To The Dragon King: Purely Paranormal Pleasures

Cora Tesouro is an account specialist for Merlin Banking Solutions, the most well-known supernaturally run bank in the world. When she's promoted to a job that takes her overseas, she is finally able to breathe a bit of fresh air. Not to mention, revel in her other form as an Iberian Lynx Shifter. It’s been far too long since she last stretched her paws!

Rei Dorado is a Dragon Shifter, King of the Golden Flame, to be exact. He's recently awakened from a very long nap to find the world has seriously changed. He contacts his bankers for an assistant in getting his accounts up to date and helping him through this adjustment period.

When Cora shows up at his door, Rei's Dragon pushes at his skin, demanding he get closer to the sexy Lynx Shifter. One sentiment echoes throughout his brain even as she seems determined to keep him at bay. Es Meus.

She may run, but she can't hide from her desires. Ready or not, this Dragon King has every intention of staking his claim!

It's a story of a dragon shifter who woke up after taking a long nap. Longer than he had wanted to or needed to. There is definitely hint of a foul play but he has more pressing matters at hand and finding out the truth behind his century-long nap can wait.

Cora is good at her job and she enjoys the work even with all the traveling. In fact, she considers it one of the perks of her work. Now, here she is needing to help a dragon understand all about his bank accounts. There is only one problem... The said dragon happens to be her fated mate. What is she going to do now because the truth is; she isn't ready for this.

Rei is attracted to his mate and wants to keep her with him forever. Unfortunately, she seems reluctant. What must he do to convince his mate that they belong together? She must understand that he won't be able to live without her. There is no way he is letting her go.

It's a short and quick read. The chemistry between the two main characters is great. I enjoyed the steamy story about tow shifters finding each other. The idea of fated mates has always intrigued me and I find it to be the best thing about paranormal romance. So, if you're like me then this book is a must-read for you. I recommend this.

P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book, for which I'd like to thank the author.

Review: Glow of the Fireflies by Lindsey Duga

Glow of the Fireflies

Briony never planned to go back to the place she lost everything.

Firefly Valley, nestled deep within the Smoky Mountains, is better kept in her past. After an unexplained fire gave Briony amnesia, her mother disappeared and her dad moved them to Knoxville.

But now her grandmother needs a caretaker and Briony's dad volunteers her to help. The moment she returns, her whole world shifts. She feels a magical connection to this valley, as if it's literally part of her somehow.

And when she meets a hot guy who claims he was her childhood friend but now mysteriously keeps his distance, Briony starts piecing together her missing past...and discovers her mother didn't leave to start a new life somewhere. She's trapped in the hidden world within the valley.

Now, Briony will do whatever it takes to rescue her, even if it means standing up against dangerously powerful nature spirits. Even if it means giving up her first love.

Briony is a girl who is looking for closure more than anything else. She is back at the place where she lost everything including her childhood memories. She hopes that she will discover the mystery of her past somewhere in the Firefly Valley. This place holds too many secrets but she is here now and she plans to relive her past as much as she can.

This is a very well-written fantasy novel. I enjoyed every second of it. The story is both intriguing and interesting. It's told in an entertaining way and the characters are amazing. I think that the way the author has introduced her characters is simply brilliant. It has enough twists and turns to keep readers on their toes. I'd definitely recommend it to all fantasy lovers, especially if you like YA novels then this is a must-read for you.

P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley.

Review: The Boyfriend Contract by Victoria James

The Boyfriend Contract

Emily Birmingham has had it up to here with men.

Growing up with an overbearing father and then her brother inherits everything she’s worked her whole life to build. Now she’s living in her grandmother's dilapidated house in the middle of nowhere Canada, jobless, and dealing with the most annoyingly sexy contractor on the planet. Exactly when did her life become an anti-Hallmark movie?

Cooper Merrick learned the hard way that love is definitely not worth the risk. He’s happy running the family contracting business alongside his well-meaning but overly-opinionated brothers...happy enough until polished and perfect Emily enters his world. Nothing prepared him for the ways she turns his life upside down and reaches the parts of himself he’s closed off from the world.

But when he finally gets up the nerve to ask Emily out, she says her next date will need to come with a written contract and some very particular ground rules. Yeah, it sounds crazy, but why does he find himself wanting to sign on the dotted line?

This is an interesting story about family and love. It's such a cute romantic story, exactly my cup of tea. I loved it! The characters are amazing and there are enough laugh-out-loud moments to put a permanent smile on readers faces. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Emily had just moved to a small town from a big city. She is enjoying the quaintness and people around her are all good. Cooper is one of the brothers who are working on her home. He is sweet and broody, a bit of a contradiction but she likes him instantly. However, both have ghosts in their pasts which they are trying to avoid. So, accepting their feelings and giving in to their mutual attraction might not be simple for these two.

I think that this book is well written and a must-read of all romance lovers in the world. It's such a feel-good kind of story that will warm your heart for sure.

P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley.
