Review: The Angel Trap by Michelle Madow

The Angel Trap (Dark World: The Angel Trials Book 3)
Be careful who you trust, or you might walk into a trap.

After putting her neck on the line to save Noah and Sage’s lives, Raven is on the brink of death. The only thing that might save her? Vampire blood.

The problem is, no one’s supposed to know that vampire blood can heal humans. Anyone who finds out will be silenced. Which means Sage and Noah need to take Raven to a vampire they can trust. But shifters don’t normally trust vampires, so they only know one vampire who fits that category.

Thomas Bettencourt is a vampire prince who rules an elite coven in Chicago. And thanks to his secret history with Sage, he might be willing to save Raven’s life. But only if they agree to his conditions.

Now they have two choices—accept Thomas’s demands, or let Raven die. And after imprinting on Raven, Noah will do anything to ensure she survives.

Even if that means making a deal with a vampire.

Get ready for more romance, adventure, and twists in The Angel Trap, the shocking third instalment in The Angel Trials series!

Wow! What an intense ending, now I want to read what happens next as soon as possible. I really enjoyed this book, so far this series is going quite well. It's fast paced, thrilling, somewhat romantic, and very entertaining. All the characters are well-written and well-developed. And of course, Raven and Noah are simply brilliant. I think this series is a must read for everyone, especially if you like paranormal the you shouldn't miss it.

In this instalment of The Angel Trials series Noah and Sage must trust a vampire to save Raven. She will die if they couldn't help her in time. So, they must do everything they can to prevent it. When Thomas offers them his help in exchange for a few conditions, they simply couldn't say no. After all it is all for Raven. They need to complete their mission as soon as possible. So far they only have questions and no answers, but things are becoming more serious with each demon they encounter, there is no time to waste because it's war.

However, they all need to stay focused lest they fall into a trap... demons are quite cunning and it's not easy to fight them if you're not prepared. Good thing is that they got all the help they need... at least, for now.

What a roller coaster ride, so far every book in this series has been better than the last one. I can't wait to find out what happens next. I hope the ending is as epic as the beginning has been.

P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book for which I'd like to thank the author.

Review: How to Train Your Baron by Diana Lloyd

How to Train Your Baron
When Elsinore Cosgrove escapes a ballroom in search of adventure, she has no idea it will lead to a hasty marriage. The youngest daughter of a duke, all she wants is to make her own choices. Now she's engaged to an infuriating, handsome Scottish baron who doesn't even know her name! Using all her feminine wiles, along with advice gleaned from a training guide for hunting hounds, Elsinore is determined to mold her baron into the husband she wants.

Quin Graham is a man with many secrets. If another scandal can be avoided with a sham marriage, so be it. Only his fiancée isn't at all what he's expecting, and the clumsy, curious, and clever Elsinore refuses to be set aside. For reasons he's unwilling to explain, the last thing Quin needs is to fall for his wife.

Sometimes a quest for adventure can lead us somewhere we never imagined to be.  That's what happens to Elsinore Cosgrove. Suddenly her life isn't what she had imagined. But she plans to make the most of her new situation. Only if her fiance will be as accommodating as she wants him to be. But no worries her book will solve all her problems. She plans to train her new husband exactly the way she wants him to be. Soon she will have her life back on track. At least, now she won't have to deal with her overbearing family.

Quin doesn't trust women much. And Elsinore isn't giving him any reason to trust her. So far she has proven to be a liar and a manipulator. Unfortunately, he can't say that he has acted any better. There is too much about him that his wife doesn't know and perhaps it's better that she never finds out. But will he be able to keep his heart intact? And most importantly keep his wife safe? He has his doubts but only time will tell.

This book is very well-written. I enjoyed it a lot and I think it's a must read for historical fiction readers. It's romantic, funny, and full of intrigue, all in all a perfect summer read.
P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley.

Review: A Rake's Redemption by Cynthia Breeding

A Rake's Redemption
Alexander Ashley has decided women of the ton are more interested in status than love. His game is seduction and nothing more. His feelings regarding aristocratic ladies leads to an outlandish idea—prove a servant can be taught to be as ladylike as those born to it. And the beautiful Inis Fitzgerald might be just the woman for his plan.

Inis Fitzgerald escaped her home in Dublin to avoid an arranged marriage and is now working for a rakishly handsome lord who seems to enjoy bucking convention as much as she does. She plays along with his little game, pretending she knows nothing about being a lady. It doesn’t take long before Alex discovers Inis is every bit as much of an aristocrat as the women he’s sworn only to seduce and not love…

It's a delightful story. Mostly, it's lighthearted and quite romantic, with few darker parts. I loved both Inis and Alexander, two people who are perfect for each other. Both hate the ton and the way aristocrats live, they want nothing to do with high society, although they're born into it. They find their society's rules stifling and want to live their lives freely, outside of convention. But it's not easy to do so...

Inis left home because she wants to live her life in her own way and refuses to follow her uncle's ambition. She is against arranged marriage and wants to marry for love. So, for her there is no other option than to run away. However, things don't go as she had hoped and suddenly she finds herself without a penny and in dire need of help. That's when she decided to work for the living. She was unlike other ladies and knew her way around horses, that's how she ends up living at Alexander's house....

Alexander is looking for amusement. Both will get more than they bargained for, because he is unaware of her true identity. His brother is the bane of his life and he does a lot of things just to annoy him. Now, he wants to embarrass his brother in front of the ton, by making a commoner pose like a lady. However, what he didn't expect was to deal with jealous ladies who would go to such lengths just to get his attention. He may just have awakened the monsters in them. Would they both survive their batter against ton or are they doomed to fail?

I'd definitely recommend it to all historical fiction fans.

Cover Reveal: Until We’re More by Cindi Madsen

About the Book
Chelsea is smart, funny, gorgeous, and the best friend I’ve ever had. Ever since she left, I’ve been a wreck. I’ve been focused on keeping my family’s MMA gym afloat while I train and coach fighters, anything to not miss her more. But now she's finally back, along with her grumpy, possessive cat, and things are weird between us.

By weird, I mean I can’t stop thinking about her in that way. She’s in the room next door, and it takes all my control not to storm in there, sweep her up, and bring her back to my bed. Even stranger, I’m pretty sure she’d be into it.

And this time, I’m not going to stop fighting until we’re more.

About Cindi Madsen
Cindi Madsen is a USA Today Bestselling author of contemporary romance and young adult novels. She sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she’d be even crazier. She has way too many shoes, but can always find a reason to buy a new pretty pair, especially if they’re sparkly, colorful, or super tall. She loves music, dancing, and wishes summer lasted all year long. She lives in Colorado (where summer is most definitely NOT all year long) with her husband and three children.

Review: What Happens In Vegas (Girls Weekend Away) by Shana Gray

What Happens In Vegas (Girls Weekend Away)
In the first warm, funny and romantic novel in the Girls Weekend Away series, four best friends embark on the ultimate girls' getaway filled with hijinks and a sprinkling of romance. For any fan of Bridesmaids and Sex and the City and readers of Jo Watson, Lauren Layne, Joanna Bolouri and Cate Woods.
When the cop...
Tough-as-nails detective Bonni Connolly is on a girls' Vegas getaway with her college friends, when she hits the jackpot. Taking advantage of her gift from Lady Luck, Bonni upgrades their trip for a once-in-a-lifetime experience in luxury and glamour. Seizing the opportunity to break out from her normal (formal) cop style, she splurges on a slinky designer dress and a VIP booth in an exclusive club. That's when she sees him, and Bonni decides there's another once-in-a-lifetime thing she wants to have: a vacation fling.
Meets the gambler...
Professional poker player Quinn Bryant is in town for one of the largest tournaments of the year and (as always) he plans to win. Determined to start off his vacation by getting lucky, he heads to his favorite club, where he spots Bonni across the dance floor. Fortune smiles on him when Bonni picks up the cards he puts down. However, what starts as a Vegas hook-up soon turns into something more, as Bonni learns to see the man behind the poker face.
The stakes have never been higher.
Even though Bonni's trip has an end date and there is another tournament calling Quinn's name, their strong connection overcomes their difference and they start to wonder if what happens in Vegas doesn't have to stay there.
Look for the next escapist Girls Weekend Away novel, coming soon!

It was a very fun and quick read. Story revolved around friends who go for a weekend in Vegas. All girl weekend soon becomes something more for Bonni when a handsome gambler sets his eyes on her. Quinn is in Vegas for gambling tournaments, but as soon as he sees Bonni dancing he knows that she is special. Soon they find themselves drawn to each other. What was supposed to be a weekend to unwind for Bonni, and that of gambling for Quinn, becomes so much more for both of them. But they can't work, a cop and a professional gambler isn't an ideal combination. Plus they're in Vegas only for limited time. However, what about after Vegas? Must they leave what happened there behind? Will they even be able to do that? Read the book to find out. ;)

I really enjoyed it, story is simple, well-written and characters are great. However, there were a few boring stretched out parts when it comes to the four friends. Although, not all bad, as I did enjoy their girly talk, all in all it's worth the read.

P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley.

Review: Assassin Games (Tarnished Heroes #2) by Sidney Bristol

Assassin Games
Anderson Gratney does odd jobs that usually involve a gun and covert ops for the CIA. His latest assignment? Kidnap a CIA analyst in order to keep her safe. Easy. Except there’s nothing simple about the beautiful, careful Carol Sark, who tempts him the more he learns about her.

Coming face to face with a masked man in her home is the most terrifying experience of Carol’s life—until he kidnaps her. He claims he’s there to keep her safe, but she doesn’t know who to trust. And until they can figure out who the threat is, she's forced to take him at his word.

Time is ticking, and even though she drives him nuts, Anderson very much wants to keep her alive. Unfortunately, the assassins have other ideas…

Wow, it's an amazing action-packed novel that kept me on my toes from the very beginning. I loved both Andy and Carol, and the romantic chemistry between them was perfect.

Carol's life is in danger. She isn't a field agent and she has no way of defending herself. But the good news is that the very person who is supposed to kill her, is going to save her. She just hopes this doesn't turn her carefully crafted life upside down.

Andy isn't supposed to get involved with Carol. He only needs to save her life and uncover the conspiracy that has them all worried. However, staying emotionally detached is turning out to be a very difficult feat, he may not succeed at it.

If you are looking for suspense, romance, conspiracies, and action then this book is just what you need. I'd definitely recommend it!

P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley.

Review: The Earl's Perfect Match by Kimberly Nee

The Earl's Perfect Match
Bennett Markham, Earl of Dunning, needs an heir, which means he needs to find a wife first. His only requirements are that his bride not be a fortune-hunter and absolutely cannot love him, now or ever.
Love is not in the cards for Markham men.

Elena Sebastiano is more than a little surprised when the Earl asks her to play matchmaker for him. They barely know each other, so how is she supposed to choose the perfect bride? Nonetheless, the challenge intrigues her.
But what's a woman to do when she wants the man for herself? Convince him no one will do but her...

There is someone who is a perfect match for Earl of Dunning, he only needs to find her. She must be someone practical and not some starry eyed woman who believes in love and all that. However, when it comes down to it.... it turned out that the kind of woman he was hoping to avoid is the exact kind of woman he finds himself attracted to...
Elena Sebastiano is like a fish out of water. She doesn't understand English women at all. But the good thing is that he only needs to tolerate their antics for a few more days. Soon after her brother's wedding they will all go back home, to West Indies. Even English weather is cold and deary. She is having a hard time here. But she must admit that Lord Bennett is someone she can easily fall in love with. Good thing she knows exactly what he wants and that she isn't someone he'd ever select for himself...
Maybe the two of them are in for a surprise or maybe life will turn out exactly the way they anticipated.
It's a very well written story and has some of the best characters in historical fiction. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to my fellow readers.
P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book.

Review: Rotham Race by Jordan Elizabeth

Rotham Race
The United States is gone; in its place is a broken country struggling to survive. A lost microchip can turn the US back into the superpower it once was. Every year, racers head out into the desert to find the microchip, but they never return.

This year, Troy is going to change all that. He plans to win the Rotham Race.
Finding the microchip, though, might not be all the citizens think. Government secrets surround the race, and the one to win doesn’t receive just fame and glory. He or she gets death.

Wow! This book is simply amazing. I loved the story as well as the characters. It's a quick and entertaining read. Nothing is overdone in this book. I think that it's perfect book for YA dystopian fans. Although, I'm not a fan of the genre but still I quite enjoyed this book. It was easy to comprehend and get into. Story intrigued me right from the beginning and as usual the author's originality didn't disappoint me in the least.

Rotham Race is the only way Troy can become rich and that's all he wants. Because in this world rich has everything, they get the first dips on medical supplies, food, and even education. For the poor life is ten times more difficult and it's his dream to make a difference, to change things in the country so that poor can also get access to all the things that only rich are enjoying. That's how it started, however, while on his quest he is going to encounter things that will completely change his view of the world...

Barbie knows that no one ever returns from the Rotham Race, but maybe Troy will be an exception. In any case, she plans to help him in whatever way she can because she wants him to come back to her, and he will...

It's a great read and I'd definitely recommend it to all readers who enjoy young adult fiction.
P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book for which I'd like to thank the author, your stories are always refreshingly original and that makes them all the more fun to read.

Lynne is a momma bear to two beautiful little girls and one amazing stepson. When she's not writing, she's an avid reader. If you don't catch her with her nose in a book or her fingers scribbling in a notebook, she's usually right in front of the television with her family. She lives in the quiet country, somewhere on the Panhandle of Florida. She loves music, dancing and beer. Preferably the beer first so she can at least pretend to know how to twerk when the music comes on. She loves anything that glitters and has a weird habit of collecting pens. Review: A Rogue For Emily by Catherine Hemmerling

A Rogue for Emily
Emily Moss cannot stand the roguish Alexander Bredon. As this season's most desired debut, she could have any man she wants. Unfortunately, Lady Lancaster pairs her up with none other than the incorrigible man himself.

With mutual dislike and contempt, Alex would rather be doing anything other than escorting the high and mighty Emily, until a secret about her falls into his lap. Suddenly, he realizes there may be more to the lady than he originally thought.

Perhaps the only thing that can keep them from killing each other is falling for each other instead.

I loved it! It's a very well-written historical romance novel. The story is quite delightful, a perfect novel for those who love historical fiction and also for those who love enemies-to-lovers romance. I enjoyed reading it a lot. It grasped my attention right from the beginning until the very end.

Lady Emily is the kind of person who wants to make a difference in the world. She has been born to privilege, but that doesn't mean that she should close her eyes to the sufferings of others. So, this is her life's mission to help as many people as possible and in any way possible. As far as her personal life goes she doesn't have much luck with finding love. Every gentleman she knows either bores her or disgusts her. However, she still hopes to find love some day...

Alexander has never liked Lady Emily. She may act appropriately in every situation, she maybe polite to everyone, but for him she always has something bad to say. He has no idea why she hates him so much but the truth is that he also doesn't like her at all. Unfortunately, the two of them often end up in each other's company...

Soon they will realize that they are actually perfect for each other, but can they have a happily ever after or is there no future for them? Well, you can find out by reading the novel, I do recommend it.
