Review: The Millionaire’s Deception by Wendy Byrne

The Millionaire's Deception

He always wins. And she never gives up...

Rafe McCall has a reputation as the Closer. He rakes in serious cash to make deals happen. Convincing small restaurant owner Frankie Ritacco to sell his business for property development should have been a piece of cake. So Rafe blows into Wilcox, Iowa on his Harley, convinced the deal is all but done. But he is so, so wrong...
For starters, “Frankie” is a woman. A stunning, stubborn woman who wants to preserve her idyllic small town. The Crossroads Café is a family legacy Frankie plans to leave to her future children, and there is no way she's selling—even to a sexy millionaire who makes her heart race. But her café is in serious trouble, and Rafe must decide if he can close the deal...or if he's found the deal breaker of a lifetime.

5-Stars Review

I loved this book. It is very well written. All the characters are amazing and the storyline is superb. I think it is a must read for all romance lovers. It is humourous as well. The best kind of book in my opinion.
Rafe and Frankie are a cute couple. I liked reading their story. Rafe has a job. He needs to convince Frankie to sell her restaurant. But he did not count on falling for this girl. Frankie knows that she is not Rafe's type but she is flustered by him. She is attracted to him and has no idea how to react to his charms. But when she finds out the real reason why Rafe was there then things might not go so well, for both of them...
It is a light-hearted romantic comedy that I enjoyed reading.

Review: Her Fallen Protector by Nicole Severn

Her Fallen Protector (Entangled Covet)

Between heaven and hell is a love beyond imagination...
When a trio of demons kidnap Vdarra Jansen, her normal life is ripped away. Her abductors claim she is the "lost heiress" of the Underworld, and the commander of the mighty Army of Duemos. They don't seem to care that she knows nothing about the Underworld, or that she only remembers the last ten years of her life...
Former archangel Jacob will do anything to bring back his lost love's memories. But if he succeeds, it could mean the end of the world. Torn between love and duty, Jacob will do whatever it takes to save her.
Jacob and Vdarra must learn to trust each other, and push aside old hurts to find their way. They are in a race to find the one thing that will decide Vdarra's, and the world's, fate – the lost Seal of Solomon.  It will mean choosing between innocent lives ...and their hearts.

4-Stars Review

A demon and an angel are very unlikely to fall in love but they did. As expected things were not so easy for them. It was not a happily-ever-after. And now after ten years there is a chance that they might be re-united. This time they maybe able to defeat the evil that wants to tear them apart.
A paranormal novel about archangels and arch-demons. Demons want to defeat the angels and rule the earth. Angels on the other hand will not let that happen because if they did all of humanity will suffer. Between the two forces are... Vdarra and Jacob.. She is daughter of Deceiter and he is a former archangel. Vdarra has no memory of her past. It is up to Jacob to win her trust and stop the Deceiter from using her and her army. It a battle of the hearts as much as of good and evil.
I really liked this book. There is a lot of suspense in the beginning. Many questions which need to be answered. But I also find Jacob a little irritating at times. He wants to save Vdarra but also doesn't want to tell her about her past, he keeps saying that he will and then when she asks he just tries to deflect her questions. Although its not irritating in itself but because it happens more than few times through out the book so that made it a little annoying for me. Still it was an entertaining story. And I enjoyed reading it.

And with Rose's life in greater danger than ever, Cal has a chance to make up for the long hedoesn't fall in love.

5-Stars Review

Its the best fantasy book I've read this year. :) It's very well written and I liked the storyline as well as all the characters. There are a number of supernatural creatures which are involved protecting vs. destroying the earth. Sentinels are protectors of Gargoyles and Gargoyles help sacred mothers to protect the earth by stopping demons from invading our world. Their duty is to close the rift between the two worlds whenever it is opened. Then there are vampires, created by demons to make it easy for them to defeat these protectors. They are vicious and stop at nothing.
Rose is a gargoyle who has been in hiding for a long time. She doesn't trusts the sentinels but then she was left with no choice but to seek their help. Cal is one of the sentinels who was also the protector of Rose's mother and now he has to protect her too. He cannot fail her like he failed her mother. It is not easy for Rose to put her faith in Cal but she is willing to give him a chance and prove his worth to her kind. Together they must solve the mystery of what happened all those years ago when Rose's mother and sisters died and also stop the rift from opening now...... This book is for everyone who loves fantasy novels.

Review: Blushing by Katie Delahanty

Blushing (The Brightside, #2)

My name is Olivia Bloom and I. Am. Engaged.

When Berkeley proposed I thought we’d live happily ever after—we’d plan our wedding and he’d tour with the Brightside while I continued designing lingerie. But instead he dropped a bombshell that turned my life upside down: he’s set to star in a movie with, who else, his gorgeous ex, Christina Carlton. And what’s more? I’ve been erased from the public eye. All anyone can talk about is #Berkstina.

Berkeley wants me to work on set as a costume designer—a dream come true—but there’s a catch; we have to keep our relationship secret. I’m okay with not being photographed, but the sneaking around, the lies, the love scenes; it’s not how I imagined our engagement. I know Berkeley is passionate and driven, but he has so much going on—I don’t know if we can take it. I’m starting to wonder how well I know him.

I love him, but am I ready to drop everything and decide the rest of my life? To become Olivia Dalton?

4-Stars Review

This is the second book in "The Brightside" series. I have not read book one so wasn't able to enjoy it as much as I might have because it is not a stand alone novel. Still I liked it a lot. It is well written, interesting and quite entertaining book. Although sometimes characters did irritate me with their immaturity but all in all it was a fun read. It did make me smile a few times along the way. I'm sure to read book one now and also can't wait for the next instalment in the series as the story is not over yet. :)
Olivia is engaged and she has hard time believing it. and what more, she has to keep it a scret because her fiance is on his way to become a movie star and they don't want to announce their engagement just yet. But that turns out to be a bad decision because it made things very complicated for them. Will they be able to stay together when they have to pretend that they are not?!

Review: Sleeping With Her Enemy by Jenny Holiday

Sleeping with Her Enemy (49th Floor #2)

He'll complicate all her plans...

Amy Morrison is supposed to be at her wedding. But when her husband-to-be jilts her at the altar, a distraught Amy runs to the only place she feels safe—her office. Besides, everyone who works on her floor is at her wedding...except him. Dax Harris. Playboy, executive, and Amy's official office enemy.

While he and Amy don't see eye-to-eye on the best of days, Dax can't help but feel badly when he sees Amy mid-meltdown. Next thing he knows, he's gotten her good and drunk, and they're making out like two  teenagers. And since neither of them want anything serious, why shouldn't they be frenemies-with-benefits? Because there is no possible way they could ever fall for each other...

5-Stars Review

A great romance! It is a must read for people who like romance between rivals/enemies. The storyline is very entertaining and its full of humour. I find it immensely enjoyable read. Its the best book I've read this month. This is the kind of light-hearted romance which I like the most.
Amy has a successful carrier and her whole life is planned out. She knows exactly what she wants and she is going to get just that. But all her careful plans fall apart when her fiance left her at the alter. She is upset and decides to hide in her office. One place where she might be able to forget all about Mason. Unfortunately she runs into Dax, her enemy. One person she hates and can't stand the sight of. But Dax turns out to be not so bad. He is sympathetic, takes her out for drinks and keeps her company in her worst time. After that two of them become sort-of-friends who are also attracted to each other. Amy is no longer looking for a relationship and Dax is a player so why not the have an affair?! One thing leads to another and soon they became frenemies-with-benefit.
I liked all the characters in this book. Especially Dax's sister Kat and his mother are bother very entertaining ladies. There are many laugh-out-loud moments in this book. In my opinion that is the best quality a book can possess. As I don't like books which are too much drama and emotions. This was a perfect read for me.

Book #1 in the Noir et Bleu Motorcycle Club series
4-Stars Review

It is an amazing story about life-changing experiences, hard choices, love lost-and-found. I really liked the plot and all the characters as well. There was bit of mystery too which made it all the more interesting. I'd recommend it to all book lovers. It definitely was worth reading.
Tienne and her brother came to live with their aunt and uncle after their father died. Reason was that their mother was a junkie and couldn't be responsible for them. Their father was a biker and their life before was not that of normal people. It was full of crime. Tienne loved a biker Aiden, he is one percenter. But after the move to polished society she needed to forget her past. Forget the people who were her family because now she had a new family, Auntie Elizabeth and her husband were kind enough to take them in and it was in her best interest to move on and not make them regret it. If she stayed with Aiden her past will not stay her past. She doesn't want to live in fear of losing someone else. But then She lose Cooper, her brother and things changed. She found out the hard way that polished society's people are not what they seem to be... they are as much of Outlaws and her biker family. Now she has a choice to make but it is not a difficult one.... she will choose love.
It quite dramatic story with lots of twists and turns and tragedy. It made me cry and laugh, and I simply loved the book. A must read for YA fans!

4-Stars Review

An interesting story, full of action, adventure, mystery and romance. I liked the way author started every chapter with a quotation. it was a nice touch and some of those were my favourites. the story is about a make up artist who is framed for the murder of one of her regular clients. Her only option is to runaway. Which she did with Cam. Who is private investigator and he must find the real killer to save her.
Together Drea and Cam solve the mystery of her client's death. along the way they must revisit their pasts. Which wasn't easy but needed in order for them to move forward... It is a well writen book, I have not read previous books in the series but still loved it.

Susan breathed in deeply; even now the emotions were raw. “A long time ago he was my best friend; we were inseparable. From the age of like, two, we never went anywhere without each other. When my grandmother died he protected me from the pain. But after the funeral they came to take me away. Max wanted me to run away with him but I said no. We were just children. There was no way that we could have made it on our own.”
4-Stars Review

It's good, a little on the emotional side. Something missing is a story about two people who are whole together but when they are apart they feel as if something is missing from their lives. They complete each other. And they belong with each other. It doesn't mean that they won't face hardships in life but it means that they can overcome anything as long as they believe in being together. I loved Max and Susan's heart-breaking-and heart-warming-at-the-same-time story.

P.S. I recieved a complimentary copy in exchange for honest review. I had read it before (didn't realised it until I started reading) but still enjoyed reading it again. :)

Sleeping Tom by E.V. Fairfall

Sleeping Tom

Hitchhiking is a bad idea but Caden is desperate.
When she accepts a ride from the first car to come by she meets Gabriel. He's her age, hot, and the closest thing she has to a savior. Problem is, he is a total jerk. With nowhere to go, Caden convinces Gabriel to let her stay with him for one night. He reluctantly lends a couch.

That night Caden wakes up to strange noises. Concerned, she rushes into Gabriel’s room, already anticipating his bad temper. Instead, he’s kind, sweet, and suspiciously harmless—nothing like the man who gave her a ride. He seems like a different person altogether, and claims he is. By night he is Tom, and by day he is Gabriel. Caden finds herself drawn to the mysteries hidden in his eyes.

For Gabriel, Caden is an annoying mistake. One night turns into many, and despite all his anger towards her, she stays. She even seems to accept him and his flaws, but he still doesn’t trust her—is she staying for him, or has she already discovered more than he's willing to share?

5-Stars Review

A very unique and interesting story about two (or maybe three) teenagers. It intrigued me since the very beginning. At first I had thought what could the name "sleeping Tom" possibly mean? But as soon I started reading, after a while, it made perfect sence, it fitting. I loved it. A very unusual novel for sure but also a very good one. It portrays the struggle of people when they go through some kind of tragedy or trauma in life, some recover others never do.

When Caden's abusive boyfriend broke up with her she ended up hitchhiking. Gabriel is running away from his own troubles. He wasn't in the mood to help her but for some reason ended up doing just that. He has strange personality, he is unpredictable and angry. at first it wasn't easy for Caden to undertsand him but after a while she realized that he is Gabriel only during the day, at night he is Tom a totally different person. And she became fond of both of them.

Sleeping Tom is a kind of book which provides fodder for the imagination. The story is told in a unique way which is captivating. I couldn't put it down once I started reading. Now I can't wait to read the next book in the series :)

Review:Miss Winters Proposes by Frances Fowlkes

Miss Winters Proposes (Entangled Scandalous)
An unseemly proposal...

Juliet Winters has come up with a wonderfully devious plan to avoid marrying her vile cur of a cousin. First, she'll propose marriage to her handsome, reclusive neighbor, Lord Colwyn. Then, once she has both name and financial support, she'll be able to pursue her true (if rather unladylike) passion -- breeding dogs. But when Lord Colwyn rejects her proposal... Juliet must take matters into her own hands.
The last thing Benjamin Colwyn expected was for the spirited Juliet to blackmail him into marriage -- especially not by kidnapping his beloved canine companion. Yet despite his yearning for peace and isolation, he finds himself wanting to help her, if only to protect her from a marriage to a disreputable scoundrel. He certainly doesn't expect the woman who pilfered his dog to steal his heart, as well...

5-Stars Review

Amazing historical fiction! I loved it and recommend to all book lovers. It is a story about a recluse viscount, who never wants to get married and an unconventional Miss, who is desperate to do just that.
After the death of his first wife, Benjamin decided not to get married again. Because he feared the loss and think it is better to stay alone forever. Juliet's father is sick and decided to arrange her marriage with a cousin who will inherit his title and estate one day. But Juliet knows that if she married her cousin she will never be able to live a life she so desires. Therefore, there is only one thing to do, marry a man who doesn't want a wife so that she can live as she pleases. That is why she proposes to her neighbour...

The book is well written and all the characters are interesting, especially Miss Winters. I loved the beginning of the book. It was epic and once I started reading I couldn't put it down. It is light hearted romance which is ideal to read this winter.
